Archaeology Museum of Barcelona
is located in Passeig de Santa Madrona
behind the Mercat de les Flors.
Museum was designed by Pelagi Martínez i Patricio and includes archaeological
remains from the Palaeolithic period to the Visigothic era, from
Catalonia and the Balearics.
collections belonging to the Iberian civilization and the Roman
world deserve special attention, as does the Greek statue of Asclepius,
found in the ruins of Ampurias.
museum has a special room for the blind, a restoration laboratory,
artistic study and pedagogical department. The library is reserved
for consultations by researchers and archaeology students.
