The Archaeology Museum of Barcelona is located in Passeig de Santa Madrona behind the Mercat de les Flors.

The Museum was designed by Pelagi Martínez i Patricio and includes archaeological remains from the Palaeolithic period to the Visigothic era, from Catalonia and the Balearics.

The collections belonging to the Iberian civilization and the Roman world deserve special attention, as does the Greek statue of Asclepius, found in the ruins of Ampurias.

The museum has a special room for the blind, a restoration laboratory, artistic study and pedagogical department. The library is reserved for consultations by researchers and archaeology students.
