If you have time left for a day trip from Barcelona, we can propose various ideas, in the mountains, on the beach, cultural trips, etc. Destinations 1 to 6 are easily accessible by public transport, although private transport would give you much more freedom and independence.

1. MONTSERRAT Tel. 93 877 77 77
The mountain and monastery of Montserrat are one of the most emblematic places in Catalonia, not only for its beautiful landscape, but also for its historical, political and religious meaning. In one day you can visit the monastery, walk around to discover deserted hermitages or sample the regional gastronomy.

3. MUSEU DAL═-FIGUERES www.salvador-dali.org Tel. 972 67 75 09

Though the museum is in the Costa Brava area, you can easily visit it in a day from Barcelona. Salvador Dali's genius makes the trip really worth it. Not in vain is it the most visited museum in Catalonia. The building housing the museum is an attraction in itself. It is open from July to September every day from 9 to 20h and from October to June from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 to 17:15h.

4. SITGES Tel. 93 811 76 30

For a day on the beach or for having a ball all night long, Sitges is your best choice. Half an hour by train from Barcelona, this picturesque small town offers you enough beaches, restaurants and terraces to satisfy your needs during the day, but also the best nightlife to spend an unforgettable night. Do not miss the Sitges Carnival, famous for the gay presence.

5. TARRAGONA Tel. 977 23 21 43

Founded by the Romans under the name of Tarraco and as the capital of the province, Tarragona had its hour of glory as a Roman city. Roman remains can still be seen today, and are undoubtedly the main reason to visit Tarragona. We recommend visiting the necropolis, the Roman circus, the amphitheatre and the Roman walls, through the archaeological alley. If you have your own transport, on the way, you can stop at Arc de BerÓ or even reach the monasteries of Santes Creus or Poblet.

6. PORT AVENTURA Tel. 902 20 22 20

Discover the adventure of your life in one of the biggest theme parks of Europe. In Port Aventura the whole family can enjoy a fascinating trip through time and space. Discover 5 fantastical worlds: MediterrÓnia, Polynesia, China, Mexico and the Far West. Enjoy Dragon Khan, the biggest roller coaster in Europe, and other attractions, shows, restaurants, shops and plenty of games and entertainment. Open from March to October.
